Vakil hits back
Srinagar: A day after Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad blamed the state Congress leader Abdul Gani Vakil of indulging in “gross misconduct” Vakil Tuesday reiterated that he would expose all the bungling and scams in PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control departments led by Taj Mohi-ud-Din.
“I will leave no stone unturned till all the scams are exposed,” Vakil told KNS.
He claimed that he was following the mission of, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and its General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, on corruption. “Sonia Ji and Rahul Ji’s instructions are that every Congress man should raise voice against the corruption even if the person involved is from our party. I am following their orders and want to make the Congress strong,” he added.
The former minister rejected all the allegations leveled by Taj against him. “It is his (Taj’s) frustration which is forcing him to level baseless allegations against me. I’m not in talking terms with him from the last four months so there is no question that I would have sought any favour from him,” he said.
Vakil alleged that Taj was involved in corruption since he was minister for CAPD in the previous government. “There are corruption cases pending against him (Taj) in Accountability Commission,” Vakil added.
Earlier, a large number of Congress workers expressed solidarity with Vakil at his residence and expressed their full support to him.
Meanwhile, Vakil has welcomed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for summoning Education Minister Peerzada Muhammad Sayeed to seek explanation from him on the alleged use of unfair means in Matriculation examination to benefit his son.
